Here is the a.d.webtv.hacking Charter that was voted on and passed in March 98. Those who think they have the right to come into any NG and disrupt it, yet accuse those who defend a NG's Charter as dictators should probably read it.... But then some people are only here to be disruptive Trolls.
GROUP CHARTER: passed 3-28-98 The term "hacking" in the title is used in the loosest sense. It sould NOT be seen as a promotion of illegal activities. This group would deal solely in discussing the exploration of the WTV network, as well as discussions which help develop a technical understanding of network operations. Central to the mission of this group are also discussions about ethics, responsibility, and legalities. Posts to this group should not encourage anyone to violate any laws or the WTV Terms Of Service. This Charter with a direct link to the TOS will be posted at least once a month, or e-mailed as necessary. Posting of bombs, instructions how to make bombs, spam, scams, flames, libel, will be actively discouraged. All off-topic posting will be actively discouraged. It is not the intention of this news group to be popular. Its narrow focus will hopefully serve only those who share an interest in the topic. All infiltration of NG Gangs, announcements, recruitment, flame wars, etc. will be actively discouraged. Posters take full reponsibility for the information that they post.
