Here's a sample of a simple log entry from a WarFTP server. A Solaris or other server (even WarFTP) can easily be configured to collect a lot more info than this. I don't want the FTP op to have a bunch of people hammering his computer so I've omiitted the last 6 numbers of his IP# Connected to 199.179.xxx.xxx (Local address 209.181.96.161) [5] Mon 01Feb99 02:11:54 - (000038) ANONYMOUS logged in, password: ABC@ABC.COM [5] Mon 01Feb99 02:11:57 - (000038) IP-Name: DYN1-TNT13-127.DETROIT.MI.AMERITECH.NET As you can see, WebTV (or any server op) can easily collect logs from every person who requests info from that server. This will work on *anything*. You can set up logs on any port on a server. I get logs from anyone who tries shit on my comp from @guard and Nukenabber (actually I usually only catch sites trying to send me cookies. I've only had 1 nuke attempt and that was while I was in IRC). As I said before, WebTV doesn't need to look in here to see who's doing what. It's all in the logs.
